Brandi Carlile

Ok, so I saw Brandi Carlile play at The Electric Factory in Philadelphia on monday 10/01/07. Let me start with the obvious, I really like listening to Brandi sing. Her voice captivates me, I WANT to listen! Brandi in concert was amazing, no doubt, but I left still a little dissappointed. At one point before she sang “Josephine” there was a slight problem with Phil’s guitar, so there was awkward silence. I actually saw clips of other shows where she entertained the audience during technical difficulties, so I didn’t understand why she sat there quiet while the problem was fixed! Also, I had bought these tickets in July, I was hyped up to finally see her, but I didn’t think she brought her best. Nothing against her, she just seemed a little out of it. Another thing that bothered me.
On her well known song “THE STORY” she changed a word. Maybe other people didn’t notice but I did. I wont directly say what it is, but if you are a fan and go to her shows you know what I’m talking about. To me it changed the whole meaning of the song. She played a few new songs that were good, and I will keep listening.

This video clip is from her show in Dallas at the House of Blues on 9/20/07. She sang this version of “The Story” in Philadelphia as well. I wonder who she’s “Selling” her stories to?

i can’t seem to find the word she changed.. what is it?
In the first chourus she changed the line “if youve got noone to tell them to” to “if you got noone to sell them too” I was shocked at the philly concert to hear the change.
